latest painting

Hi Everyone,
Just created a new painting over the weekend. I love the colors in this one. Working with pastels and the colored shadows they create brings a new excitement for me. I enjoy working in my "Square Flowers" series, and if you check out my Etsy site you will see the other's in my series. I've already sold two through Etsy and hope to do more!--Here is the link

Off to photograph a golf outing

Today I am photographing a benefit golf outing at Firestone Country Club here in Akron, Ohio. It will help to raise funds for the CJD Foundation (Creutsfeld Jacob Disease)--CJD is a form of mad cow disease, but in doesn't affect cows, it affects humans. My friend Florence lost her husband through this terrible disease. Florence runs the Ohio CJD office and has been involved in this crusade since her husbands death a few years ago. It's a great cause. So, with that being said, I will not be painting today--but will be back tomorrow!!

Created a new painting today

Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself and welcome you to my blog!--My name is Amy Haught and I am an abstract artist living in the great state of Ohio. I paint abstract acrylics and pastels and I also dabble in wired art and other fun stuff. I started selling my work on a local level almost eight years ago, and have exhibited my work in various galleries around the Akron/Cleveland area. The internet has provided and excellent venue to show my work at a more afffordable price, due to avoiding the "gallery fees" of 40%

Please feel free to throw any comments my way. I will be updating this blog daily with new works and comments. You can view my latest creations by visiting my Etsy.com site.
